When Elizabeth Backup made the decision to change her career path and move into the world of design, she did so with a renewed sense of passion. That passion is clearly evident in this brilliant navy kitchen project.
Backup designed this kitchen at her boyfriend's Los Angeles home with a mid-century modern aesthetic, which features stunning Shaker style cabinets painted in navy and a bold backsplash. Our DIY Shaker doors come unfinished and provide an excellent surface for your choice of paint. A bold shade like navy blue can deliver a huge dose of visual interest. And when paired with brass hardware, it can bring a sense of sophistication and charm like no other color.
Backup's design choices here make this kitchen a standout. Pendant lights from Cedar and Moss hang above a gorgeous marble waterfall island. The lights' gold accents matches that of the hardware, faucet, and open shelving. All this incredible attention to detail elevates this mid-century modern wonder to another level.
